Biography of Santiago Abbatucci (1726-1812)

French General, father of Carlos Abbatucci, born in 1726 and died in 1812. He/She was one of the leaders of the insurrection of Corsica against Genoa; It also resisted the yoke of the France, so it was prosecuted and sentenced, but the France Court reversed the ruling, and Luis XVI confirmed him their degrees, making him Knight of San Luis and field marshal. In 1793 he/she defended the island of Corsica against the English and Paoli, Chief of the disaffected. He/She then returned to France and was employed in the army of Italy under the orders of Bonaparte. In 1799 he/she returned to Corsica and lived there retired until his death.
