Biography of Ablavio (¿-350)

Prefect of the praetorium, died in the year 350 A.D. Constantine the great appointed him to Director of Constantius, which, however, deprived of his employment under the pretext of giving in to the voice of the army. Ablavio retreated to a House that was in Bithynia, to live there as a philosopher. Constancio, fearing the power of his former adviser, sent him a letter in which pretended to associate him with the Empire, and did murder by officers carrying.
