Biography of Edmond About (1828-1885)

Writer and French journalist, born in Dieuze (Moselle) in 1828, and died in Paris in 1885. He/She collaborated in the founding of the journal Le XIX si├Ęcle, anti-clerical orientation. He/She published essays, notably the Roman question (1861), against the temporal power of the Pope. In the stories and novels it mixed humor with ethical elements. Include the nose of a notary (1862) and the story of a great man (1880).
