Biography of Luis Antonio de. Vizconde de Carreira Abreu y Lima (1785-?)

Portuguese politician who was born in 1785. Initially followed the arms race and then entered into the diplomacy. He/She was in the Hague as Minister Plenipotentiary when don Miguel usurped the throne of Portugal; as he/she refused the oath, he/she was dismissed, but continued in that Court as Ambassador of MarĂ­a de la Gloria. He/She then went to London and devoted all his efforts to the constitutional cause. He/She was later Ambassador of Portugal in Spain and France and Pedro V. preceptor As a summary of the observations collected during his stay in Africa, published a work entitled: report on the colonies of Portugal on the western coast of Africa.
