Biography of Lamberto Adam (1700-1759)

French sculptor, born in Nancy in 1700 and died in 1759. He/She spent ten years pensioner in Rome, where he/she executed several works of importance. In 1737 he/she was appointed member and, later, Professor of the Academy. The statue of Neptune calming the waves with a triton at his feet, and the Group of Neptune and Amphitrite who are in Versailles, are proof of his talent. He/She published a collection of ancient Greek and Roman statues.
