Biography of Elfrico o Aelfrico Aelfric (955-1020)

Anglo-Saxon Church, born to the 955 and died towards the 1020. Belonging to the nobility, he/she was educated in a Benedictine environment by Aethelwold in Winchester. He/She became Abbot of Cerne and Eynsham (Oxfordshire). He/She wrote in vulgar Anglo-Saxon to religion reaching around the world. Famous are the sermons Catholici; the homilies Vitae sanctorum; Beda De temporibus anni and Heptateuchus versions. He/She is the author of the work Vita sancti Aethelwoldi, written in latin, and of a grammar.
