Biography of Carlos Adolfo Agardh (1785-?)

Professor of Botany and rural economics in Lund in Sweden, Protestant Bishop of Carlstadt; He/She was born in Bostad, villa of the Scania, in 1785. He/She taught first mathematics and then devoted himself to natural history, giving preference to the study of cryptogams vegetables. He/She wrote many works on this subject, such as the following: Metamorphosis algarum; Dispositio algarum Scandinaviae; Icones algarum; Systema algarum; Trial to reduce the plant physiology to fundamental principles; Essay on the interior of the plants development.
