Biography of Rodolphus Agricola (1444-1485)

Dutch philologist, dubbed in some occasion Frisian; He/She was born in Bafflo, near Groningen, 1443, and died in Heidelberg in 1485. Also known as Rudolf Husman or Huysman. He/She travelled to France and Italy, being friend and disciple of Trebisonda Jorge, Teodoro of Gaza, Francesco Filelfo and Lorenzo Valla. He/She obtained a professorship of Greek and Latin language in Heidelberg, and wrote Latin, philosophical and philological dissertations, which were published under the title of R. Agricolae Elucubrationes lectu dignissimae aliquot. He/She also wrote a treatise De inventione dialectic, which caught attention of the contemporaries.
