Biography of Waldo Aguiar Carmona (1930-2000)

Painter Spanish, born in Madrid in 1930 and died in the same city on May 21, 2000, the son of the painter José Aguiar. He/She studied at the school of fine arts of San Fernando in Madrid. He/She was awarded a scholarship by the Spanish Government to paint in the Spanish territories of Guinea, by the French Government for further studies in Paris and by the Juan March Foundation. He/She served as Professor of Institute of the subject of drawing since 1970. He/She was appointed member of the Royal Academy of fine arts of San Fernando in Madrid in 1973, and of the Commission of historical monuments of Vizcaya in 1973.

His work focuses on landscape, portraiture and the human figure following a colourful traditional aesthetic. Some of his creations are in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, Museum of contemporary art of São Paulo, circle of fine arts of Madrid and the National Library of Madrid.
