Biography of Isidora Aguirre (1921-2011)

Chilean writer born in Santiagoy died in Santiago de Chile on February 25, 2011; his professional work is oriented towards film, television and theatre, where he/she worked as a screenwriter or adapter of classic works of Molière and Lope de Vega, among other authors. He/She was also University Professor of translator and theatrical technique. His literary work focused with preference in the dramatic genre, although also has written some novels such as I to lived the dream (1987) and letter to Roque Dalton (1990). In terms of its contribution to the theatre, are the works, among others, Covenant of midnight (1954), Carolina (1955), two and two are five (1957), sardines or excision of Amanda (1958), Lautaro (1982), which won the Premio Eugenio Dittborn of the University Catholic of Chile, the papermakers (1963), altarpiece of Yumbel (1987) and dialogues of fin de siècle (1989).
