Biography of Giovanni Santini Aichel (1667-1723)

Bohemian architect of Italian origin; born in Prague, in 1667, and died in 1723. It was formed in Italy, and then traveled by England and the Netherlands. Sometimes cultivated style Baroque and others, the neo-Gothic style. Specialized in this last style, a cheerful, naive and very personal, Gothic with a predilection of starry in their elegant and ethereal vaults forms: Marienkirche, Kladrau (1712-26) and the churches of Seelau and San Juan Nepomuceno in the Green Mountain, near Saar (1719-22). However, it was a quirky and did not exercise any influence or had any disciple.
