Biography of King of Arakhati Akiya (ca. 1370 a.C.)

(A-ki-ja) King of Arakhati, a regional centre to the North of Syria, Qatna and Niya. Next Akit-Teshup, brother of Niya Takuwa, and people maryannu (originating in the own Niya and Arakhati) faced the Hittite King Suppiluliumas I during his great Syrian campaign. Akiya, captured by the Hittite King, prisoner was brought to Hatti.
