Biography of Gustavo Alamon (1935-VVVV)

Uruguayan painter, born in Tacuarembó in 1935. He/She began his apprenticeship in his hometown and continued in the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Montevideo. Since 1963 he/she teaches at different schools in Uruguay.

In 1981 he/she traveled to Europe thanks to a prize awarded by the Embassy of Spain in Uruguay, a journey repeated in 1987. In 1991 he/she settled in Madrid. Since 1970 it employed different solutions to configure series whose central theme was the denatured modern automation. After an initial phase of "buildings" under the influence of Cubism and the Egyptian painting, incorporated progressively the figure in series as the couple, parade of Robots and Robot, recurring figures in all his subsequent production, both if it's elaborate phantasmagoric worlds based on Spanish tiles and the recreation of urban environments.
