Biography of Conde de Holanda Alberto (¿-1404)

Count of Holland, who died in the Hague in 1404. His relationship with Adelaida Ploelgeest, her lover, rose to the Dutch, who was killed in his palace. Alberto took up arms to avenge that attack and punished the managers at the head of which was his son Guillermo, who had to banish. He/She contracted large debts, which left without pay when he/she died, and by a ruling of the judge, in accordance with the laws of the country, his widow attended the funeral with borrowed clothes and hand a straw, which cast into coffin to express that he/she was resigning the succession.
