Biography of Sebastián Alcántara (s. XVI)

Spanish stonemason from the 16th century. He/She was a disciple of Siloé Diego. He/She worked at the Cathedral of Granada, and replaced, from 1528 Enrique Egas increasingly lengthy absences. His masterpiece, and that of San Matías (1543), drew the covers of Santa Ana (1542), perhaps as well as the beautiful courtyard of the ecclesiastical Curia (1534) and pillar - now defunct - to the so-called field of the King, today Campo del Principe, which perhaps was his first work.
