Biography of Gregorio de Alfaro (ca 1516-1616)

Spanish Benedictine monk, born in Córdoba to 1516 and died in Ona in 1616. Professed in the colegio de San Vicente in Salamanca, he/she was Abbot of Santa María de Bueso, prior of San Martín in Madrid and preacher. His work as a latinist focused on san Agustín and san Gregorio Magno. He/She wrote several works, published in Valladolid, including ecclesiastical and secular government and the life of Francisco Reinoso, Bishop of Córdoba. He/She translated from latin the works of Luis Bossio, san Efrén and the Pastoral de san Gregorio.
