Biography of Conde de Saboya Amadeo V (1249-1323)

Count of Savoy, named the great; second son of Tomás de Saboya, count of Flanders, was born in 1249, succeeded his uncle Felipe I in 1285, gave to his nephew Felipe the Principality of Piedmont and everything that his home was on the other side of the Alps, division which lasted a century and a half. It took an active part in the Affairs of France, and died in 1323.
