Biography of Gene Amdahl (1927-VVVV)

IBM project manager and design engineer. Thanks to its designs large machines used in offices and business took a big step. The company IBM has launched a range of computers, in 1964, which inaugurated the era of enterprise computing and this company became one of the most important in the world, thanks to the design of Amdahl. Amdahl was subsequently dedicated to design a computer that could compete with those designed by Cray. When IBM gave up the market for supercomputers, he/she founded his own company, Amdahl Corporation, and introduced a new microchip technology. He/She has also worked as Advisor to design for Japan, and its influence extended to the USSR.
