Biography of Diego Anaya y Maldonado (1360-1440)

Spanish prelate. He/She was born in Salamanca in 1360 and died at about 1440. It was schoolmaster of the sons of King Juan I, Archbishop of Seville and President of the Council of Castile. He/She was commissioned in Avignon to confirm the obedience of the King of Castile to the Pope Pedro de Luna; He/She attended the Council of Constance as Ambassador; in Salamanca, he/she founded the colegio de San Bartolomé, called the old, in 1401; It was stripped of its charges by influx of Don Álvaro de Luna, but replacement shortly afterwards.
