Biography of Escipión Burali de Arezzo (1511-1578)

Italian cardinal who was born in Atri, near Gaeta, in 1511, and died in 1578. Carlos V appointed him member of the Higher Council of the Kingdom of Naples; He/She then entered a theatines monastery, where it took the name of Paul Fray. He/She refused several bishoprics offered by Felipe II, and was in charge of a mission for this King, who was trying to enter the Spanish Inquisition in Italy; When he/she returned later, he/she was called to Rome, where he/she obtained the bishopric of Plasencia and the Archbishopric of Naples with Cardinal Capelo.
