Biography of King of Mitanni Artatama I (ca. 1410-1375 a.C.)

(Ar-ta-ta (a) - ma or Ar-ta-ta-to-mash) King of Mitanni, son of Shaushshatar and grandfather of Tushratta. During his reign were maintained excellent relations with Egypt, even with Exchange of ambassadors and epistolary correspondence (e.g. Letter 29 archive of Tell el-Amarna), aimed at addressing the Hittite power, common enemy. Own Pharaoh Thutmosis IV, of the XVIII dynasty, requested repeatedly to King mitannio to one of his daughters as a wife, to which finally agreed (some identify this Princess with Mutemwiya).
