Father of Conrad Badius. Born in Assche (Ghent) in 1462, and died in Paris in 1535. It was satirical poet, Professor of Greek and Latin literature at Lyon, and then printer in Paris. His most notable works were: Navicula stultarum mulierum; Navis stultifere collectanea; Sylva moralis against vitia; Grammatica, etc. As a printer it gave most of the classical ancient editions.
