Biography of Ramón Báez (¿-1929)

Dominican politician, son of the late President on five occasions, Buenaventura Báez, followed the political footsteps of his father and also managed to assume the highest authority of the island, even on a provisional basis, between the months of August and December 1914.

In his capacity as President of the Professional Institute, years later become the University of Santo Domingo, Ramón Báez was elected to the Presidency of the country on 28 August 1914, José Bordas , replacing the previous year, had been elected in a poll on which planned to accusations of fraud. Baez led the country until the holding of the new electoral process which, at the end of 1914, installed in the Palacio Nacional Juan Isidro Jiménez as the new President.
