Biography of Hedi Bakuch Mohamed (1930-VVVV)

Tunisian politician born in Hammam-Sousse, on January 15, 1930. Degree in letters from the Sorbonne University and a degree in international relations from the Institute of political studies in Paris.

He joined in the Desturiano Socialist Party (PSD) in 1946. Four years later he/she created the first desturiana cell in the Sousse Lycée that, later, would lead. In 1952 he/she was arrested by colonial authorities for his participation in the national movement.During his studies in France, between 1954 and 1959, he/she held successively the positions of Vice-President and President of the Federation of students Desturianos in France and in Europe. From 1961 to 1963, was deputy director of the PSD, in charge of the area of youth guidance.From the latter date and for a period of seven years, was Governor in the towns of Bizerte, Sfax and Gabcs. Appointed as general Chairman of the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale (CNSS) in 1971. Then, in 1973, was responsible for the national Office of fisheries (ONP). In 1978, he/she held the post of Advisor to the Prime Minister. From 1979 until 1981 he/she was general consul of Tunisia in the French city of Lyon. From this year was responsible for the diplomatic representation in Bern and in the 1982 Vaticano.En was elected Ambassador of his country in Algiers, since he/she served until March 13, 1984, the date on which was nominated candidate for the Presidency of the PSD. Two years later, at the 12th Congress of his party was elected member of the political Committee of the Central Committee and director of the PSD.
