Biography of Antonio Balestra (1666-1740)

Painter and printmaker Veronese. He studied in Venice, Bologna and finally in Rome with Carlos Maratta; He then joined Naples to see the works of Lanfranc, Lucas Jordano and Solimene. He won the prize of the Academy of San Lucas in Rome for his drawing of the defeat of the Giants. His works are many, being able to cite how notable a Santa Teresa, in Bergamo; a Virgin, in Mantua; a life of San Cosme and San Damián, and several engravings etched.
