Biography of Jean de la Bruyère (1645-1696)

Famous writer and French moralist. Member of the Academy and one of the best writers of the 17TH century. He was Treasurer of the Treasury in Caen and then was in charge of teaching history to the Duke of Burgundy, under the direction of Bossuet, passing the rest of their days by that Prince. The work that gave him greater reputation is the book of the characters, witty and pungent satire of the vices of his century that can present itself as a model of its kind.
