Biography of George Clooney (1961-VVVV)

Actor and American filmmaker born on May 6, 1961 in Lexington, KY., and whose full name is George Timothy Clooney.

Son of Nick Clooney, an actor and television presenter in the chain AMC of Cincinnati, and nephew of the actress and singer Rosemary Clooney and actor José Ferrer, was in contact with the world of the show from very small. He studied Communication Sciences at Northern Kentucky University and he devoted himself to journalism for a while, but he left his work to focus on the interpretation. He moved to Los Angeles, and there studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse while he began to appear in small roles in television and low-budget films. For ten years he devoted himself almost exclusively to television, with little success until in 1994 she played Dr. Doug Ross in the series urgencies, one of the great successes of the television of the United States, which made him a star. He was nominated several times to the Emmy and Golden Globe for Best Actor and the series got the prize for the best interpretation of a set of Screen Actor completo Guild, the Association of United States actors. Clooney became during the five years that appeared in the series in one of the most popular faces of the television.

His career as an actor rose dramatically in a very short time and their roles in the film changed radically. Open until dawn (1996), Robert Rodríguez, was their first success on the big screen. In it she plays, with Quentin Tarantino (author of the screenplay and executive producer), two murderous brothers in flight to Mexico. Considered by all kinds of publications and surveys as one of the most attractive men of the screen, it exploits your romantic side in the comedy an unforgettable day (1996), by Michael Hoffman, along with Michelle Pfeiffer. He was chosen for the role of Batman in the grossing Batman and Robin (1997), Joel Schumacher, which allowed him to become one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood. After being filmed in secret and appear in the program of TV Entertainment Tonight without his permission, he began a long personal and legal battle against the tabloid press.

In the peacemaker (1997), Mimi Leder, she plays a military rebel paired with Nicole Kidman, and in a very dangerous affair (1998), StevenSoderbergh, it shares the limelight with Jennifer López. In this latest Clooney gives life to a bank robber who has a strange love story with the federal agent who pursues him. Based on a novel by Elmore Leonard, it was nominated for the Oscar for best screenplay Academy. In three kings (1999) from David Russell she plays an American soldier travelled to the Iraqi desert during the Gulf war.

Clooney devoted his career to success with two new movies released in the year 2000. In the first one, the perfect storm of Wolfgang Petersen, the actor is enrolling in a classic film of adventures with manicured special effects that reached an absolute worldwide box-office success. The second, or brother, is a particular version of Bröderna Cohen of the Ulysses of Homer in the deep South of the United States, where Clooney plays the ringleader of a particular gang of inmates fleeing a Mississippi prison. In 2002 he participated in two new projects, welcome to Colinwood; and, again under the command of Soderbergh, Solaris. His directorial debut was also the same year the taped confessions of a dangerous mind. He returned to work in 2003 with the Coen brothers to embroider an extraordinary role in intolerable cruelty.

In 2004 he starred in Ocean's twelve, the second part of Ocean's eleven that he wasn't as successful as the first deliveries. In 2005 presented, for his part, his second job as director, good night and good luck, a film that explores the "witch hunt" in times of Senator McCarthy through the journalist who was able to deal with it, Ed Murrow, and which won the Volpi Cup best actor for David Strathairn at the 62nd Venice Film Festival, as well as the award for best screenplay for the own Clooney in the same contest and the prize for European cinema to the best non-European film. It was also the year in which starred Syrianna, a film about the murky oil business that got an Oscar and Golden Globe best supporting actor.
