Biography of Ivan Clustine (1862-1941)

Dancer, choreographer and ballet master Russian, born in Moscow on August 10, 1862 and died in Nice on November 21, 1941.

He studied at the school of the Bolshoi Ballet of Moscow, and in 1878 became part of the company of which he was principal dancer from 1886. In this same position went to Monte Carlo in 1905, which was also a ballet master and company acted as a partner of Carlota Zambelli and Natalia Trouhanova. In 1909 he joined l' Opéra de Paris as choreographer and ballet master; for this company created ballets: La Roussalka (1911), Peri (Dukas, 1912), Suite de Danses (1913) and Hansli le Bossu (1913). Anna Pavlova Ballet choreographer was for eighteen years, which made creations as prominent as Godard Pas de trois (1913), Chopiniana (1913), Gavotte (1913), The Fairy Doll (1914), Raymonda (1915), Noir et Blanc (1917) and Dionysus (1921), among others.
