Biography of Juan Pinto Delgado (s. XVII)

Spanish poet, who lived in the first half of the 17TH century. He belonged to the Jewish religion, and took refuge in France, where he composed a volume of verse entitled: poem of Queen Esther. He also wrote the lamentation of Jeremiah, the story of Ruth, and several poems. Lope referred to him at the laurel of Apollo in the verses: of Juan Delgado rightly wonder / not be declared / if we have call him Juan Delgado / by the understanding or the name.
