Alfredo Stefano Di Stefano Laulhé, footballer born in Argentina (Buenos Aires) on July 4, 1926 and died on July 7, 2014 in Spain (Madrid). Argentine, nationalized Spanish in 1956, was without doubt the best soccer player of the 1950's, and is regarded as one of the four best ever, alongside Pele, Cruyff and Maradona.

Had already been champion of Argentina at the River Plate and seven times international with the selection of his country when he/she was signed by Real Madrid, in 1953, after a controversial dispute with the Football Club Barcelona. Before arriving in Spain he/she had played in the millionaires of Bogota in Colombia.

During the 11 years that was the Real Madrid player did an intercontinental Cup, five European cups (consecutive), eight League Championships and one cup. Played 510 meetings and managed to 418 goals. It was five times top scorer of the Spanish League and it has been of the Spanish team, which played 31 games, until Emilio Butragueño surpassed his record of 22 goals.

The blond arrow, as it was known, received the Golden Ball as the best European player in 1957 and 1959. After leaving Real Madrid, in 1962, he/she signed for the Spanish Barcelona R.C.D., where ended his career in active. The roughness of his character was sometimes drawback in his role as coach. Despite this, he/she won half a dozen titles (Boca Juniors, River Plate, Valencia) and directed several teams, some as modest as the lightning or the Elche.

On August 16, 1963, Di Stefano was kidnapped in Caracas by the armed forces of national liberation (FALN). The kidnapping that lasted 72 hours and was released to a hundred yards from the Embassy of Spain in Venezuela. The kidnapping was looking for call the international attention on the social and political situation in Venezuela.

At age 75, the glory of football decided to write his biography in a beautiful book entitled thanks, old (2000). In 2003 the Spanish Government awarded the gold medal for merit in work. And in May 2006, close has already turned eighty years old, received a tribute at the inauguration of the stadium that bears his name at the new ciudad deportiva de Valdebebas; the tribute brought together distinguished veterans of Madrid and other teams that played a game to spice her figure; among them were Santillana, Schuster, Redondo, BUTRAGUEÑO, iron, Martín Vázquez, Busquets, mile, Luis Enrique, Julio Salinas and Amavisca.

On 5 November 2000, he/she was appointed President of Honor of Real Madrid and newly premiered in office, he/she picked up a few days later the trophy to the best Club of the 20th century by FIFA to Real Madrid C.F.  and on 17 February 2009, UEFA President received the award.

On July 7, 2014, he/she died in a Madrid hospital and its burning chapel was installed in the stadium Santiago Bernabeu Real Madrid C.F. during two days, where all members of Real Madrid, Spanish and world football personalities, and personalities of all sectors, came to pay their condolences.
