Biography of Fernando el Cardenal-infante (1609-1641)

Cardinal, infante of Spain, Governor of the Netherlands, son of Felipe III and Margarita of Austria; born in 1609 and died in 1641. Young Archbishop of Toledo and Cardinal was named, and Felipe IV appointed him by successor to the Archduchess Isabella Clara Eugenia in the Netherlands. Very well said the war against the French and Dutch, regained the conquests that had made him, and took his time some populations of France; but being abandoned by the Germans who were in his army, he had to undertake the withdrawal, and the French could regain what was lost; shortly after he died.
