Biography of Pero Ferrús (s. XIV)

Poet of the 14th century known as the old, belonging to the first Castilian poetic generation, represented in the Cancionero de Baena (1443). He lived in Alcala, next to the Jewish quarter. In the tradition of the medieval debates, his most famous poem is the dispute which had with López de Ayala, which defended the winter compared to the summer. Author also of a beautiful love poem, which shows the influence of the Provençal troubadour poetry, and whose target is called Bellaguisa. In his work he gives us one of the oldest references we have of the existence of the Amadis de Gaula.
