Spanish painter, born in Madrid in 1763 and died in the same city in 1834. Eldest son of Antonio González Velázquez, painter of Chamber of Carlos III, director of the Academy of San Fernando and brother-in-law of Maella, Zechariah was a disciple of Maella and, like his father, painter of the King and academic of fine arts. He/She devoted himself mainly to decorative painting, tempera on canvas. His best-known work is the decoration of the Casita del Labrador at Aranjuez, but also made altarpieces for churches and was very much appreciated as a portraitist.
His style, like his predecessor and his teacher, stays within the neo-classical line.
