Biography of Guaycavanu (siglos XV-XVI)

Warrior Chief of Santo Domingo. He lived the last years of the 15th century and early 16th. He lived at Vega Real and had a large family. He was the first Indian on the island of Hispaniola which is converted to Christianity and received the name of Juan Mateo. It is not known if his life lasted many years in the 16th century or perished in the massacre by Nicolás de Obando.
