Biography of José Ramón Guizado (1899-1965)

Panamanian politician, born in Panama City on August 13, 1899 and died in Miami on November 2, 1965, which was President in 1955.

Professional engineer, he was elected Vice President in 1952, but had to assume the maximum Executive after being killed on 2 January 1955 President José Antonio Remón, general pronorteamericano and antiarnulfista which had won the 1952 elections as candidate of the patriotic coalition. Twelve days of its forced mandate, Guizado was arrested and accused of having been the INSPIRER of the assassination. Despite being sentenced to ten years in prison by the National Assembly, the courts declared him innocent in 1957 and was released, after which went into exile in the United States.
