The filming of this movie was very complicated as Güney was forced to explain what I wanted to her Assistant Director Serif Gören, which was who then transmitted orders to the actors and technicians. So, I drew on paper how I wanted to be rodase each sequence, but was Goren which then was in charge of implementing it in the closest way possible. Fierce denunciation of the human genocide perpetrated by the Turkish Government on the Kurdish people, the story was inspired by the real experiences of fellow prisoners. This film would end up erecting symbol of resistance to the Turkish military regime, at the time that initiates an on controversy over the political situation in that country and the repression to which the Kurds are subjected.
