Biography of King of Mari Lamgi-Mari (ca. 2600 a.C.)

(LAM-gi-Ma-ri) King of Mari (Tell Hariri, Syria) of the dynastic archaic period. Of such character, which was also titled "Vicar of Enlil", only reached a statue, located in the Temple of Inanna in his city, with a curious votive inscription ("the virile Ianana"). Such statue (27 cm high, today in the Museum of Aleppo) allowed the identification of the important city-state of Mari, on the Middle Euphrates.
