Biography of Juan Francisco de León (¿-1752)

Captain poblador, born in the Canary Islands in date unknown and died in 1752. Around the year 1750 was judge of the Valley of the Panaquire (Venezuela). He was in command of the rebellion against the company Guipuzcoana de Caracas (1749), wounding the economic interests of the landowners Creoles, dedicated to smuggling. Governor Juan de Arriaga was able to quell the rebellion, however, there were sprouts until 1752. Some historians have seen in it a precursor to independence.
