Biography of Ulrico Obrecht (1646-1701)

Jurisconsult and French philologist, Professor of eloquence and history in Strasbourg, born in 1646 and died in 1701. He abandoned Lutheranism in the hands of Bossuet in 1684, and was named by Luis XIV Royal pretor in Strasbourg. His most notable works are: De legibus agrariis populi romani and editions of Dyctis, of Quintilian, the history of augusta, etc.
