Biography of Thomas Pitt (1653-1726)

Governor of Madras, grandfather of Guillermo Pitt, Earl of Chatham, born in 1653 and died in 1726. He acquired a considerable fortune, mainly due to the sale of a beautiful diamond that bought for 500,000 francs and resold to the Regent by the triple of this amount.
