Biography of Ángel Rama (1926-1983)

Uruguayan writer born in Montevideo and died tragically in Mejorada del Campo (Madrid) in plane crash. He was Professor of literature at the University of Montevideo and in other foreign; journalist and literary critic, he collaborated in numerous magazines and newspapers (El País, March, action, etc.). They are among his books Rubén Darío and modernism (1970), very influential in studies of this poet from Nicaragua, the critical generation (Uruguay), 1939-1969 (1972), the River Plate gauchipoliticos (1976), narrative Transculturation in Latin America (1982), the lettered City (1984) and democratic masks of modernism (1985).
