Biography of Miguel de Rojas (ca. 1600)

Spanish scientist, born in Alba de Tormes, Salamanca, about 1600. His research and work focused mostly in the field of metallurgy. It was assayer of the Kingdom of Peru at the time of the Marquis of Guadalcázar (1622-1629). He is the author of a manuscript which, by theme and extension, can be considered as an intermediate step in the great work of synthesis which effected Álvaro Alonso Barba. It is the criteria to search and test mine, as well as practice will continue to benefit with mercury types of silver ores, including additives suitable according to the conditions. As it was customary at the time, the author supports the growth of stones and metals.
