Biography of Ana Roje (1909-VVVV)

Dancer and teacher Croatian, born in Split in 1909. After debuting as a dancer in his native city, he moved to Zagreb to perfect his training under the tutelage of Margarita Frohman. He joined the Ballet of the Opera of Belgrade in 1930, thence moved to London three years more late to study and work together with Nikolai Legat.

During the season 1938-39 was in the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, as a dancer and teacher. In 1941 he returned to Yugoslavia and opened a ballet school with her husband, the dancer Oskar Harmos. They later settled in the United States.
