Biography of Gonzalo de Saavedra (s. XVII)

Spanish writer of the 17TH century. It is believed that he was born in Córdoba. Very little is known of his life, but it is known that he was Governor in one of the provinces of the South of Italy. His style is decadent. Only the mediocre novel the shepherds of the Betis, is distinguished from his work 1633, for being the last authentic pastoral novel written in Spanish.
